Job Description ORACLE LICENSE MANAGEMENT SERVICESSenior Licensing Consultant Job Description License Management Services (“LMS”) is a group chartered to perform objective software license reviews of Oracle customers and partners to ensure that the customer/partner is in compliance with the terms and conditions of Oracle’s license policies, while providing Business Practices education and other value added services to internal and external customers. Job Title: Senior Licensing Consultant The Senior Licensing Consultant is a senior level position in LMS that works with partners/customers to resolve compliance issues and ensure proper compensation to Oracle while preserving the relationship. Core Duties:§ Plan and conduct license reviews to ensure Oracle Software is used/distributed in compliance with Oracle’s Licensing Policies and associated contracts.§ Interpret license agreements and support records by conducting license reconciliations.§ Obtain a thorough understanding of Oracle system environments to provide licensing guidance.§ Prepare compliance reports for distribution to Oracle partners/customers and Oracle Sales.§ Provide licensing and Business Practice education to internal and external customers.§ Work in tandem with Business Practices groups to resolve complex licensing issues. Provide feedback to Business Practices on customer/partner interpretations of Oracle's licensing policies.§ Ensure adherence to Oracle’s Compliance Policy. Partner reviews require soliciting and evaluating potential targets for review, traveling to their places of business to perform the reviews, understanding the partners’ applications resold with Oracle technology, and the interpretation/summarization of partner agreements. Reviews and reconciles software sales activity and accompanying support records. Works with the business to strategize resolutions to compliance issues and leads the negotiation/resolution process with the partner. Assists the partners in resolving any issues with their Oracle relationship. A Senior Licensing Consultant will also participate in projects to improve the review process, incorporate best practices and enhance the team’s overall licensing and technical knowledge. Qualifications: Job duties are varied and complex, and require independent judgment. Minimum 5 years experience to include 3 years Big 4 public accounting/internal audit experience, IT Consulting, or DBA experience required. Strong presentation and written / verbal communication skills. Experience in working with C-level personnel. Ability to comprehend and interpret complex licensing issues. Ability to analyze and interpret key relationships and concepts. Ability to relate smaller concepts to the overall "big picture". Ability to work independently. Successful management of multiple projects. Interest in travel and technology. Travel required. Understanding of software industry and Oracle software a plus. BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or MIS. CPA or JD preferred.
