Senior Pre-Sales Consultant/Sales Engineer

Percussion Software is a dynamic high-growth international software company headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts with offices in San Francisco and London. Formed in 1994, Percussion and its products have received numerous awards and accolades worldwide. We are seeking a qualified individual to join our Boston-area presales organization selling the Rhythmyx Content Management product. The right individual will have experience and knowledge of content management, relevant technologies and the competition.

 

Presales Consultants work with Senior Management, Sales Representatives and Inside Sales to drive and support all technical aspects of Percussion sales activity. He/she is viewed as a strategic technical consultant to both the customer and other sales team members. He/she will be expected to craft and deliver presentations and in-depth demonstrations that meet the needs of all levels within our customers’ organizations.  Candidate needs to work well within a dynamic environment and be highly motivated.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive of duties of the position):

· Deliver highly skilled pre-sales presentations and technology demonstrations to customer prospects, standard or on-line

· Customize the standard demonstration to a prospect’s requirements

· Participate in trade shows and seminars as a lead technical resource

· Write excellent documentation in support of the Sales team (i.e., RFP, RFI & ITT)

· Lead outbound technical sales calls (inside sales support)

· Convincingly communicate product value proposition

· Review and be familiar with Product documentation

· Stay current on new product technologies

· Deliver product training to customer or prospect


QUALIFICATIONS:

· 3+ years experience in software pre-sales ideally with another CM technology (such as Interwoven, Tridion, Red Dot, Fatwire)

· Experience with key technologies such as XML, Java, JavaScript, J2EE servers and web services necessary

· Highly refined writing and speaking skills

· Superb presentation skills including the ability to create one’s own PPT slide set

· Knowledge and ability to work with prospects and communicating complex solutions and architectures via PPT and Visio

· Proven track record for assisting in the rapid qualification, development and delivery of new product customers

· Strong communication, interpersonal relationship and influencing skills

· Excellent trouble-shooting/diagnostic skills

· Ability to communicate complex technology solutions and architecture discussions with customers, partners and internal senior staff

· Programming experience in XML/XSL, Velocity, Java, JavaScript

· Knowledge of RDBMS’s on both NT and Unix platforms.

· Knowledge of Application servers (Tomcat, IBM Websphere, BEA, WebLogic, Oracle 9ASi)

· Knowledge of Web server Administration (Apache, IIS)

· Knowledge of popular web front-end & back-end technologies (Flash, JSP, ASP, .Net, Web Services, etc.)


EDUCATION:

BS/BA required; MS preferred

 

50% Travel
