DescriptionPerforms product design, bug verification, release testing, and beta support projects which may require research and analysis. May assist in performing on-site client work. Operates under minimal supervision. Usually reports to the Product Development Manager. Typically requires six to nine years of technical experience in software design and product support. Performs complex product design activities which may require extensive research and analysis: * Performs design, implementation and maintenance of complex, multiple product modules/sub-systems. * Participates in product design meetings. Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products: * Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems. * Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits. May assist in performing on-site client work on complex applications. In absence of product architects, may serve as a product architect: * Design and implementation in order to meet project objectives. * Documentation of development work. Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.Required Skills• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field• At least 3 years experience designing, implementing, and maintaining custom-built MSI • Experience developing complex multi-product installation routines • At least 3 years experience designing, implementing, and maintaining custom-built MSI• Experience in authoring installation programs created using the InstallShield development environment• Excellent knowledge of software installation and patching techniques on Microsoft Windows • Experience with VMWare tools is highly desired • Strong experience with InstallShield scripting required• Experience with other scripting languages (such as VBScript) a plus• Experience with other installation development tools (such as Wix) a plus• Experience with IIS and SQL server a plus• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. • Experience with source control tools such as Team Foundation Server, SourceSafe, CVS, or SVN desired • Experience with Configuration Management and Build production desired • Experience developing with C# and C/C++ desired• Demonstrated mastery of full product life cycle - must have served a technical leadership role through multiple releases of a product• Experience with XML a plus. Demonstrated experience in delivering software products.• Experience in software installation and packaging techniques on POSIX platform a plus.Required ExperienceBachelor's degree in business, software engineering or computer science; advanced degree desirable - candidates with a Master's degree are encouraged to apply.
