DescriptionPerforms product design, bug verification, release testing, and beta support projects which may require research and analysis. May assist in performing on-site client work. Operates under minimal supervision. Usually reports to the Product Development Manager. Typically requires six to nine years of technical experience in software design and product support. Performs complex product design activities which may require extensive research and analysis: * Performs design, implementation and maintenance of complex, multiple product modules/sub-systems. * Participates in product design meetings. Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products: * Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems. * Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits. May assist in performing on-site client work on complex applications. In absence of product architects, may serve as a product architect: * Design and implementation in order to meet project objectives. * Documentation of development work. Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.Required SkillsExcellent communications and interpersonal skills.• Minimum of 10 years proven work experience coding in C/C++ and/or Intel x86 Assembler Language• Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in developing Windows Kernel Mode Device Drivers under Windows NT/2K/2K3/XP• Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience developing Windows Kernel Mode Device Drivers under Windows Vista• Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience developing Linux Kernel modules is desired.• Solid experience with NDIS, TDI, and other kernel-level networking interfaces.• Expert knowledge of windows hooks, process/thread management, file system management, and memory management at the kernel level• Expert knowledge in using kernel debuggers (WinDBG, SoftIce, IDA)• Experience with Team Foundation Server, SourceSafe, CVS, or SVN desired. • Demonstrated experience in delivering software products • Results-oriented problem-solver. Self-starter. • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. • Experience with VMWare tools is a plus.Required ExperienceBachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or related field; advanced degree desirable.
