About the Job We are seeking a highly self-motivated experienced Senior Product Manager to own and drive Akamai's Streaming Products. The role will involve working closely with engineering and a full cross-functional team including product marketing, sales, channels, service and support, network and operations, integration services, customer care, and billing. The product manager will be responsible for defining target markets, defining product requirements, establishing pricing and financial models, managing product launches, and providing management updates on their product. Responsibilities * Define and implement a product roadmap for Akamai's Streaming Products * Drive the roadmap working closely with engineering and a full cross-functional team including product marketing, sales, channels, service and support, network and operations, integration services, customer care, and billing * Manage products through launch and follow-on releases * Interact with customers and prospects to define market requirements, and translate these requirements into product requirements that the engineering team can deliver within specification, on time, and within budget * Define and drive the business plan, strategy, forecasting, pricing and positioning of the products working closely with Product Marketing to define the go to market plan * Create and deliver sales training for the direct sales force as well as channel partner sales forces and technical services and support teams. * Write and develop product collateral such as product descriptions, presentations, sales tools and technical white papers * Represent Akamai at conferences and other events. Basic Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Sciences or Engineering * Overall Experience: Choose one or equivalent experience * 5 years of experience with product management, product marketing or product developement or equivalent experience * 2 years of experience with internet-related technologies or equivalent experience. Desired Qualifications * Preference given to candidates with experience working with streaming technologies including Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight * Situational fluency, ability to influence and motivate others, and perserverance to handle challenging business situations * Ability to gather data from the market and customers to analytically determine business priorities * Desire for on-going challenges and interest in continuously learning about new Internet technologies * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a broad range of technical and business audiences * Interest and knowledge of current digital media trends * Must be a team player Contact us!
