JOB SUMMARY:

 

Use Visual Basic to code ASP.NET for our proprietary web-based transactions infrastructure.  Use prior knowledge in web transaction systems and industry-specific functional requirements to write ASP.NET code using VB.NET.  Interact with business users to understand and document requirements and use this knowledge to develop appropriate, scalable software architecture models.  Experience in UI design and support desired. 

 

Ensure functionality works as expected.  Implement changes with no impact to production activities.  Follow generally accepted coding standards in management of code base.  Follow procedures for production management of code in the development and production environments.  Execute on tasks associated with each project per agreed-upon timeframes and with high quality of work.

 

Perform occasional Webmaster support work.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Develop ASP.net applications in VB.NET Develop and execute test cases and test suites to ensure adequate QA Production Support:  Act as tier 3 production support to address software issues Work with end-users to understand and document application requirements Address issues in applications performance, identify problems and craft appropriate architectures to address issues Assist on the team to develop new applications by suggesting appropriate application of .NET and ASP.NET Occasional Webmaster support work.  

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  Minimum 3 years experience in developing with SQL server/T-SQL Minimum 3 years experience with Visual Studio and .NET development environments: VB.NET, Visual FoxPro a plus Minimum 3 years with Microsoft Web Technologies: IIS, ASP, ASP.NET, ADO, ADO.NET. Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS. Advanced knowledge of Dreamweaver or Adobe Go Live. Search Engine Optimization and Web Analytics Knowledge. Working Knowledge of graphic editing tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Image Ready, etc. Graphic and web site design experience. Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science. Ability to do some Webmaster support a plus. Experience with Java web technologies or C# a plus. Experience with Crystal Reports a plus Experience with N Unit a plus. Experience with Web Services a plus. Experience with BizTalk Server a plus.
