Lead in the definition, design and implementation of platform and tools, which serves as a key foundation for application and system installation/deployment. Job Description: We are looking for a career-minded, self-starting, highly motivated, and technically proficient software engineer. The preference is given to candidates with stable employment history as a full-time employee. The individual will be part of the Software Infrastructure Group, developing next generation installers of RMS multi-tier, data-intensive application software on Microsoft platforms. The ideal candidate is a subject-matter expert in software build and release management methodologies, with hands-on experience creating and managing build and deployment strategies. He/she is detail-oriented, organized, and focused, with the ability to prioritize his/her workload. Primary Responsibilities: Design and develop next generation of installers for RMS software, which will provide simpler and faster deployment of RMS products. Design and develop installation utilities for Windows and Web-based applications. Create automated software build processes in support of ongoing development, maintenance, and release efforts. Maintain build environments and build history. Be responsible for development and maintenance of code branching to support software development efforts. Provide administrative and technical support, including but not limited to installation of software patches, and trouble-shooting of installation and configuration problems.   Required Skills: Eight or more years of general software development experience with at least 5 years experience with Windows InstallShield and MSI installer development, build script development, and experience in Microsoft Windows environments. Demonstrated expertise with data extract and query tools (e.g. SQL Server) Experience with creating and maintaining automated build tools. Strong knowledge of software development life cycle and software build and release management methodologies. Significant hands-on experience with enterprise-level systems for large organizations, preferably in insurance industry. Strong ability to successfully manage concurrent deliverables on time and with quality within fast-paced environment and under deadlines. Substantial experience supporting parallel development environments for multi-project development. High degree of professionalism while addressing and resolving issues related to build/packaging/installation. Excellent oral and written communications are required. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US. Desired Skills:  Experience within n-tier architecture environment. Working knowledge of various scripting languages on Windows platforms. Working knowledge of Microsoft TFS, VSS, .NET and other Microsoft tools. Flexibility; ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience working with cross-functional teams and other engineers, especially from different geographic locations, is a plus.
