Job Description – SENIOR SOA SOFTWARE DEVELOPERSUMMARY

Power Catalyst specializes in enterprise-level energy data management in the electric energy domain. We have an immediate need for a Senior Software Developer to be responsible for designing, implementing, documenting and managing enterprise service bus (ESB) implementations of service-oriented architectures (SOA).  The work takes place in customer-specific integration projects on one hand, and the development of energy industry software products on the other.  The candidate must be a team player, yet work well independently, have excellent verbal and written communication skills.  The perfect candidate would be a professional, detail oriented and self-motivated individual who excels at completing tasks successfully and efficiently. RESPONSIBILITIES

§  Hands-on development of an integration architecture using Java and Service Oriented Architecture principles.

§  Enterprise adoption of WebSphere MQ; future exposure may include Tibco EMS, SonicMQ, and similar ESB.

§  Implementation leveraging ESB, DB-to-DB, ETL, and other integration tools.

§  Integration of software systems provided by multiple COTS vendors.

§  Working closely with the Integration Lead, the Project Coordinator, and other integration developers. 

§  Following the project integration architecture, working closely with company integration architects.

§  Future projects may include portal development using the latest visualization and complex event engine technologies.

§  Occasionally working on a customer site.

 QUALIFICATIONS

§  Undergraduate Degree required.

§  Good written and verbal communication skills.

§  Good understanding of Service Oriented Architecture principles, and ESB and EAI technologies.

§  A commitment to Test Oriented/Driven Development.

§  Minimum 5 years software development experience.

§  Experience with Message Oriented Middleware and JMS -- WebSphere MQ a plus.

§  High availability and high performance systems experience a plus

§  Strong Java skills.

§  Proficient  in XML-related technologies, including XSD and XSLT

§  Web Service technologies including SOAP and WSDL

§  J2EE including JDBC, EJB, MDB, etc.

§  SQL experience required; Oracle and PL/SQL a plus.

§  Competence in UML
