About the Team You will be joining an exciting start-up within Akamai focused on a brand new product line for the online advertising space, designed to help customers improve the performance of their online campaigns. As the Sr. Sales Engineer - you will overlay with our Global Digital Media Sales team focused on the largest Publishers, Advertisers, and Network partners on the Internet today. About the Job Senior Sales Engineers are experienced Sales Engineering professionals, adept at uncovering the business and technical requirements of customers, and defining solutions that address those needs. A Senior Sales Engineer is self-directed, capable of leading technical sales activities, managing the customer technical relationship, and becoming a subject matter expert on Akamai's online advertising solutions. You will also work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing to use experience with customers and partners to improve the long term solutions roadmap. Responsibilities * Gather business and technical customer requirements * Design technical solutions to address those requirements * Lead technical pre-sales efforts for the proposed solutions * Collaborate with Professional Services to ensure speedy implementation and long term customer success. * Manage Customer / Partner technical relationships * Work closely with Digital Media Sales, Engineeering, & Product Management Basic Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Eningeering or equivalent related field * Overall Experience: 7-10 years or equivalent experience * 5 years of experience with online advertising technology and systems or equivalent experience * 5 years of experience with implementing technical solutions for customers or equivalent experience * 3 years of experience with technical pre-sales or equivalent experience Desired Qualifications * Strong understanding of the online advertising eco-system: technologies, 3rd party solution providers, as well as related business processes are required * Experience with technical pre-sales or consulting delivery around these systems * Knowledge and/or background in Internet technologies, specifically HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, web development, and an understanding of basic networking is a plus Other Information * Is relocation available for this position: Yes * Is US Citizenship required: Yes * Is a Security Clearance Required: No If yes, applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation & must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
