Senior Software Developer (Visual Studio) - GREAT COMPANY!

 The Advanced Software Developer position participates in systems analysis, technical design, implementation and maintenance of business applications for the support of the Client's Sales activities. This position participates in systems analysis, technical design, implementation and maintenance of business applications for the support of the Client's Sales activities. Must be able to work closely with others to facilitate integration of new and existing systems and where neessary participate in a phased implementation of the new applications using standard development tools and methodologies. In addition to the ongoing responsibilities, this person should be able to participate in the research and implementation of development tools, methodology, standards, software distribution, configuration management, and release control mechanisms. This position can include the rotating responsibility of on-call support for custom applications and should be willing to be on-call and work with other team members of problem resolution.

Major Duties & Responsibilities Include:

• Code and modify applications of moderate to significant complexity using programming tools. Document all code using standard forms and procedures, adhering to all naming conventions. 40-60%
• Perform analysis of customer and vendor requirements and create design specifications with time estimates for user interfaces, application enhancements, new functionality, and backend processes in collaboration with customers, Business Systems Analysts, and other project team members. Provide accurate information regarding time estimates and project status. 20-40%.
• Work with Quality Assurance to develop and perform unit, system, and user acceptance testing based on an understanding of the development lifecycle. 10-20%
• Work with Architecture and other infrastructure groups as applicable to determine and implement system hardware requirements.
• Provide both on-call and routing support for applications, utilizing monitoring tools, and respond with solutions to both functional and technical issues in a timely manner. 10-20%
• Work with DBAs and other team members to ensure logical and physical data models and relationship diagrams are completed and executed according to methodology and user requirements Perform or assist in the creation of back-end databases and work with DBA’s to implement a turnover plan. Identify data mappings and perform gap analysis for third party data conversions into/from the client's core systems. 10-20%
• Identify opportunities for software, process, reporting, or other technology improvements and make recommendations to management. 5-15%


Required Skills:
At least two years experience programming in Microsoft Visual studio VS6, Microsoft Visual Studio DotNet (2003, 2005), VB, C++, C#, HTML, SQL, ASP, Javascript, VBScript, or other languages
• At least three years demonstrated success in using tools such as Access, Query, Nvision, Crystal, Application Designer, ErWin, Visual Studio, InterDev, SQL Navigator, etc. Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and convey the meaning of complex report information as it relates to business processes.
• Demonstrated proficient understanding of relational databases (e., Oracle or SQL Server)
• Demonstrated proficient understanding of troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, application design, solution development, human factors/usability design, and implementation of medium sized projects or major components of large projects
• Proficient knowledge of the software development life cycle, practices, and methodology
• Demonstrated understanding of data, process, and business modeling
• Working knowledge of MS Office products
• Demonstrated proficient knowledge of network systems hardware and software practice and technology. Experience with platforms such as UNIX, Windows, or other operating systems
• 5-7 years experience in Software Development

Desirable Requirements:
• Significant demonstrated interface development experience.
• “Hands-on” experience with Microsoft Visual Studio VS6; Microsoft Visual Studio DotNet 2003, 2005
• Experience with Visual Source Safe familiarity or equivalent source code library.
