Senior Software Engineer (243289-499)

SilkRoad technology, Inc., a leading collaborative community management software provider, is seeking a top candidate to perform web application development in support of our Employee Performance Management software, WingSpan. This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Candidates will perform duties that require the following qualifications: * Application design and development with a focus on web technologies, databases, and user interface principles and techniques * Extensive knowledge of ASP.NET, VB.NET, JavaScript, DHTML/HTML, and XML * Familiarity with C#### and SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services * A well-rounded knowledge of relational database design. Experience in creating and executing stored procedures/queries against relational databases, primarily SQL Server 2005 * Experience with globalization, localization, and internationalization of web applications * Experience with code maintenance Candidates will be expected to: * Demonstrate proven skills in requirements gathering and documentation * Lead and manage full life cycle system development activities (requirements definition, design, development, testing: verification/validation), implementation, and quality assurance * Translate functional requirements into software with minimal guidance * Work alone, or provide general guidance to team members, to ensure timely delivery of specific assignments and projects * Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications skills. * Analyze and resolve code issues


Required Skills:

Previous experience as an application developer in a professional work environment is a must; 5 to 10 years experience.

BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.

The ideal candidate will be extremely competent at the majority of the following technologies: ASP.NET, VB.NET, Advanced/ Complex HTML, Advanced JavaScript (DHTML), Extensible Markup Language (XML), CSS – Style Sheets, SQL, SQL Server 2005

Additional Desired Skills: C#.NET, SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services, Rational ClearCase
