Senior Software Engineer

 

The employee in this position is responsible for the analysis, design, and/or the development of application(s) and/or software solutions for new and existing products.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

Design, develop, write and otherwise implement software programs and applications

Review, analyze, modify, and maintain software programs and applications including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.

Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.

Effectively communicate with internal and external customers as appropriate in order to ensure the delivery of high quality customer service and support

Participate in design meetings and code reviews

Provide technical direction and leadership to project team members

Write product requirement documents, functional specifications and end user documents

Reliant on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Ability to perform a wide variety of unrelated tasks while working on 2 to 3 applications simultaneously

Provide consultation on complex projects.

A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

 

 

Job Requirements: 



Education:  Bachelor’s degree

 Experience:  Five to Eight years experience in a programming role

Skill Requirements:

Essential Technical Skills:

Strong understanding and experience with the following:

C / C++ skills (level of at least 8 on a scale of 1 to 10)

MFC / Win32

XML

Excellent debugging skills

Understanding of component software development

 

Desirable Skills:

C# .Net programming experience

Network programming

Programming in a multi-threaded environment

Digital imaging experience

 

Other Essential Skills:

Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Ability to work independently

Quick learning capacity

 

 

Physical Requirements, If Applicable:  Able to lift 50 pounds.
