Senior Software Engineer – European Search Quality

A9.com, the search technology subsidiary of Amazon.com, is looking for highly motivated engineers with German and French language expertise to help improve the quality of product search on Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, and other European e-commerce sites. As part of A9's Relevance team, you'll work on a variety of problems related to the European search experience, ranging from relevance ranking to spelling correction to query classification, with a focus on optimizing for the unique linguistic and cultural attributes of German and French. You'll work in A9's small-company environment, but have access to the resources of Amazon.com, one of the world's leading Internet companies. You must be an innovative thinker, a strong communicator, and a rock-solid engineer with a record of working on industrial-strength software systems. Requirements:Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experienceC++ development in a Unix environmentAlgorithm design and analysisFluent in German and/or FrenchDomain expertise in ONE OR MORE of the following fields:
