Job Purpose

 

The Release Management Group is responsible for the planning, delivery, development, implementation, maintenance and Beta testing of key Engineering development applications.  Additionally, the resource is responsible for providing business solutions that, where possible, introduce new Pega technology into these applications.

 

The successful candidate will work as a productive senior member of the PRPC Release Management application development team and actively engage in a variety of tasks from sustaining engineering activities, development, application maintenance, application bug fix and beta program activities. 

 

Key Result Areas

 

· Partner with team members to document, technically design, unit test and implement application modifications modification based upon business need.

· Partner with and potentially lead off-shore team members in the delivery of application modifications and sustaining engineering activities.

· Partner with team lead in the planning, deployment, issue management and documentation of Beta releases within the application environment.

· Provide and meet time estimates for assigned deliverables.

· Ensure applicable deliverables are unit tested with a documented, repeatable plan ensuring requirements are met.

· Partners with Test Engineering team members to develop test plans and strategies to produce high-quality application deliverables.

· Work with team members to ensure work / deliverables / processes are properly documented.

· Participate in various Engineering Theme meetings, requirement reviews and design reviews to gain a better understanding of the development process and new feature deliverables.

· Other responsibilities and key result areas as required or assigned.

· Will require off-hour application upgrade work.

 

Job Knowledge and Application

 

· Solid understanding and practical experience with the software development life cycle

· Advanced Java programming with focus on server development (2+ years)

· Facile with application servers, operating systems and development tools such as eclipse, ant, etc.

· Web Application Development (2+ years)

· Strong OO Design and Development skills

· XML (1+ years)

· DHTML, JSP (2+ years)

· Relational DB and related tools (2+ years)

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

Minimum Level of Education:

BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

 

Type of Experience and Minimum Number of Years: 

 

· Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience in a technical role or applicable experience.

· Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with remote team members

· Academic success in a technical field.

· Experience in an application development environment is desired.
