Senior Software Engineer, Web UI

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer for our Development group, with a passion for UI technologies and solid application development experience.  The ideal candidate possesses the ability to implement rich, interactive, effective, and clean user interfaces in Ajax web applications and can help us move towards Web 2.0.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sr. Software Engineer seeking a new challenge in an emerging growth technology market.  We’re looking for someone comfortable with design and abstraction who will participate as a team member in the refactoring, design and development of a J2EE based Digital Asset Management System.





Requirements:

· A minimum of 5 years of development and UI design experience.

· Strong understanding of J2EE Web Applications including, but not limited to, Servlets, JSP and XML/DOM parsing tools.

· Experience using open source frameworks such as Struts, Tiles and Spring.

· Strong client side programming (strong DHTML, JavaScript, some familiarity with AJAX concepts), experience with multi-browser platforms, as IE, Safari, Firefox.

· Experience with the following are a plus:

o  Web services from the client-side perspective

o  Eclipse IDE, Tomcat, Subversion, ANT

o  Agile approaches

· Excellent team player with strong communication skills.

· BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

· Local candidates only; relocation is not offered.

 

Major Responsibilities:

· Within the Development team, develop and integrate high quality features and components for our Web based software solutions and products. 

· Design, develop, and implement front-ends using a variety of leading edge technologies.  Deliver and launch applications on time.

· Assist both technical and business senior staff by providing UI/front-end options during design and development phases.

· Propose innovative approaches both to the overall UI design and to the development of individual components.
