Senior Software Release/Tools Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Release and Tools Engineer will be a member of the Software Development team and is expected to significantly contribute to the company’s software product/process development process.  This person will help us update our release and build processes to support our growth, and deliver consistent, predictable and reproducible software builds.  This person will also help us decouple the various software components so they can be built and released independently, and at different release levels for use at multiple manufacturing facilities.

The Senior Release and Tools Engineer will be responsible for creating and executing of build and release plans, automating the build environment and generating schedules, reports and metrics.  This person will also identify build and release tools and protocols, and maintain the build hardware, tools and infrastructure.

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in a software release and tools environment, with a minimum of 3 year of practical experience with build tools for C++ or Java in a Microsoft and/or Unix environment.

· Experience with make tools, scripting languages, conditional compilation, version control, defect tracking tools, and install tools

· Experience with database environments and object oriented development environments a plus.

· Experience implementing new release and tools methodologies highly desirable

· Experience with the requirements of a regulated environment highly desirable

· Experience with life-cycle software development: requirements, specification, design, testing, implementation, and debugging/support

· Ability to work independently in a small development group with minimum supervisionSkills Required

· Ability to communicate easily in written and spoken EnglishEducation Required

AS/BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience preferred
