Senior Systems Analyst

Centerstance is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst for a contract position in Tacoma, Washington.

 

This person will be the documentation guru for the developer staff for the Ellis project. "Documentation" means writing down and conveying information (not just traditional requirements) in a manner that is sensible and readily able to communicate with a varied audience. They must have a technical inclination by nature and enjoy working with developers, and have the willingness to do whatever is needed to complete the various documentation tasks that arise, and even have the savvy to determine the best way to document!

 

Responsibilities:Develop functional (business) and non-functional (technical) requirements documentation including process flow and technical architecture documentation using Visio.Develop requirements traceability documentation.Lead requirements review and prototyping sessions.Develop both technical and functional documentation collaboratively with both technical and non-technical staff; create system and business use cases.Complete business and technical process analysis and then provide recommendations and/or complete risk assessments. Develop test plans and facilitate user acceptance testing in coordination with QA staff.

 

Requirements:Must be adept at translating business processes into technical specifications, and conversely to interpret whether system and/or technical flow documentation translates into satisfying end-user requirements. Must have strong business process analysis and change management experience. Must be able to work in a loosely defined and fast paced environment. Possess understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and the appropriateness of applying various development methodologies to a particular project need. HRIS, Payroll, Billing, Workflow Management, Dispatching, and A/R business domain expertise a plus. Experience leading business meetings to closure. Excellent communication skills. Experience collaborating successfully with the full compliment of project and business staff, such as architects, programmers, DAs, DBAs, QA, TWs, and Communications staff, PMO, PMs, stakeholders, and end users. Experience with large projects involving the following compliment of challenges: software upgrades, forklift replacements, vendor searches, cost analysis, resource allocation within large teams, collaboration across multiple sub-teams, business process change, dynamic prioritization of risks and deliverables, and participation in development of viable deployment strategies.Substantial proven ability to interface comfortably and collaborate heavily with a Developer team (programmers, DAs, etc).Highly technical (not to be confused with technical writer! These are two different things.)Document developer information in whatever form required, ie. flowchart, Visio architecture drawing, word doc, ppt, etc.Ability/desire to learn knew technical concepts or issues rapidly!Work extremely efficiently in a self-directed manner, comfortable in a role that is demanding but unstructured.Make independent and situational decisions about appropriate documentation approach. Capture and interpret what they hear during various types of project meetings for developers.Create Developer team task lists as the result of working sessions w/Dev team.Establish backlog of development activities associated with highly complex development project.Pick up documentation tasks that developers themselves don't have time or inclination to produce themselves. Facilitate Developer meetings for the purpose of gathering information and producing appropriate documentation!Take the burden of this facilitation role off the current developers within the team.Must possess a can-do attitude and willingness to function outside the traditional concept of an SA or tech writer role.

· In summary, ability to dive and provide writing, analysis, technical, and documentation skills, as needed, for the Dev Team that is working on the Ellis project. This is a "workload relief" position.
