Senior Windows .NET Developer Consultant

The Microsoft Federal Intelligence/Homeland Security (IH) services team provides a vital role in supporting the successful and accelerated achievement of our customers’ objectives through Microsoft products. In order to better support our customers, we are actively seeking a Software Developer Consultant with a passion for developing applications .NET. The Developer we are looking for will have a powerful combination of advanced technology and strategic business acumen and will be able to demonstrate proficiency with or quickly learn advanced .NET architecture, design, coding, and debugging skills to impact systems architectures, investigate system-wide technical problems, and develop new features. The role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to architect a solution by mapping a customer’s business problem to an end-to-end technology solution. The ideal candidate should possess a solid working knowledge of:·  Strong understanding and experience with the .NET framework, preferably .NET 2.0.·  Strong experience with the C# programming language and object-oriented programming.·  Broad understanding and experience with Microsoft Windows technologies.·  Experience developing interoperable solutions with Unix/Linux and/or Java using web services, COM/Java interop technologies, and/or TCP/IP sockets.·  Experience developing database applications using SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2000. Experience with Oracle or DB2 is helpful.·  Experience developing Microsoft Office based solutions.·  Advanced debugging skills. Ability to debug system-wide technical problems in unfamiliar areas.·  Ability to diagnose and correct performance problems.·  Excellent oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated ability to engage in senior-level technology discussions related to agility, business value, and Microsoft technologies is a must. Consultants manage the complete lifecycle of large and complex projects. They have a passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience. The MCS Consultant applies advanced analysis skills and experience in principals of software design and deployment to define appropriate customer solutions. The MCS Consultant must have proven experience managing projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing multi-phase/multi-dimensional/multi-resource projects to conclusion while maintaining high customer satisfaction. The role requires an individual who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and has demonstrated skill in both crisis management and expectation management. The successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience combined with a minimum of 6 years relevant work experience including expertise in enterprise architecture as well as infrastructure deployment and/or distributed system implementation.
