Job Description

 

 Jackson Healthcare Solutions, one of Atlanta’s fastest growing companies, is looking for a motivated and talented Business Analyst. This individual will work within the development team and is primarily responsible for implementing process and system improvements to company websites and applications. This individual works with the end users to gather requirements, forms recommendations on possible alternatives, and presents these alternatives to management to determine an action plan. The Business Analyst is then responsible for carrying out the action plan by following project management methodologies, and coordinates with the development team employees and other departments to ensure the process or system improvement is implemented appropriately.

 

Job Summary: 

The Business Analyst works within the web and applications development team and is primarily responsible for implementing process and system improvements to company web sites and applications. This individual works with end users to gather requirements, forms recommendations on possible alternatives, and presents these alternatives to management to determine an action plan. The Business Analyst is then responsible for carrying out the action plan by following the team’s methodologies, and coordinates with the development team associates and other departments to ensure the process or system improvement is implemented appropriately.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Works closely with end users to develop a detailed understanding of user needs, and defines requirements for new or improved web sites and/or applicationsWorks on complex business problems, analyzing and evaluating current business methods and procedures for improvementsConsults with technical or functional experts at all levels to obtain requirements and develop solution proposalsWorks with various business owners to develop detailed systems specifications, workflows, design and other documents to meet business requirementsTroubleshoots issues identified by the end users or team membersTests company web sites and applications, and works with the QA and development teams  to debug themSupports UAT activities with end usersWorks closely with Project Managers to set priorities and successfully drive projects to completion with minimal supervisionAssists in developing department business processes, procedures, and policies Adheres to all company and department procedures, processes, and policies Performs other duties as requested or required Desired Minimum Qualifications:

  · 2 – 4 years in a Business Analyst role with experience in gathering business requirements, building functional requirements, UML, design and workflow, and UAT

  · Self starter, technical savvy, creative, out-of-the-box thinker

  · Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills

  · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  · Ability to work independently as well as in a team based on need

  · Demonstrated ability to act in a consultative role to understand functional business processes and related IT needs and to develop solutions and delivery proposals

  · Experience in participating in cross-functional project team environment

  · Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other business organizations

  Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

 Education:Bachelor’s degree or 2 – 4 years experience in a related field

Preferred experience/skills:

  Business Analyst experience related to web sites and/or applications

  SharePoint, most preferably MOSS 2007

  Provider credentialing

  Healthcare industry

  UML tools

  MS Project
