Software Developer / Computer Scientist 

Our client, a global advanced technology firm, is currently looking for several Software Developers to join their team. The position is located in Arlington, VA and this is a permanent/full-time role with an excellent benefits package!

Position Summary:

The individual will lead small to medium sized dynamic teams that will develop innovative solutions to "Intelligence Hard** problems. These solutions require an applicant with the ability to manage a team that is multi-disciplinary (mathematicians, software and subject matter expert theorists). Demonstrated experience in software engineering process with a firm philosophical commitment to agile methods is required. Software projects normally develop prototypes that are co-evolved to operational levels with customer involvement. Qualified candidates should have an advanced degree, with experience in managing advanced technology software development projects.


Responsibilities include technical leadership as well as hands-on design, implementation, evaluation, interfacing with other organizations/sub-contractors, and mentoring of junior staff. The candidate will interact directly with current and potential customers to guide development efforts to meet their needs.


Requirements:
** U.S Citizenship is required and must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
** Bachelors Degree required; Masters degree & PhD's are preferred, in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or related discipline. Emphasis on Mathematics highly desired.
** 5 years of software engineering/architecting experience with previous experience managing comparable software projects.
** Expert-level knowledge of object-oriented architectures, experience with UML modeling tools and methodologies and a passion for innovation.
** An appreciation for complex software development challenges, and ability to manage complex client relationships.
** Experience with software development life-cycle.
** Expert level understanding of more than one modern language (e.g., C#, Java), in addition to related technologies (e.g., JavaScript, Python, XML/XSLT) is a requirement as is a practical understanding of software process approaches (e.g., SEI/CMM, especially agile development methodologies).
** Skilled in conflict identification and resolution coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
