Software Developer for R&D (CFD-125) Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc is a recognized leader in the development of cutting-edge engineering, analytic, and software solutions for critical defense problems. We are seeking a motivated software engineer to support research and development of software tools for evaluating an innovative battle command decision support system, called Deep Green. The position is located in our Orlando, FL office. The chosen applicant will work as a member of a small team of software developers and analysts in support of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency’s (DARPA) new battle command decision support system, Deep Green. Software development tasks will span the software development lifecycle – needs analysis, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and reviews. Tasks will include design and development of a series of tools that collect, process, and display data from the decision support system in near real-time. Required Qualifications B.S or M.S. in computer science or computer engineering Object oriented software development skills in Java, C++, or C# Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to obtain DoD security clearance Demonstration of creative problem-solving skills Desired Qualifications Experience with military distributed simulations (OTB/ModSAF, OOS) Interest or experience in fast paced research and development environments Interest or experience in programming for real time performance Interest or experience in data mining or efficient data storage or retrieval approaches Interest or experience in development of user-friendly graphical user interfaces Interest or experience with graph theory and its application to real world problems Education and experience with operations research and / or advanced mathematics Active DoD Secret clearance The Benefits of Working at ARA Work environment – In addition to being committed to providing superior services to our customers, we like to have fun.
