Software Engineer (5 openings!!!)

Our client currently has 5 openings for Software Engineers in the Rochester,NY. They are looking for people who have an high interest in obtaining a very hands on position. The Software Engineer position is responsible for writing Web-based applications and discovering solutions to highly complex business problems. Other responsibilities include:

Reviewing business requirements, Creating software specifications, Documenting design, Implementing/unit-testing code, and Participating in peer review.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

• Review and provide feedback to software requirements, analyze project's complexity, and provide estimates

• Design scalable, robust and creative solutions

• Write elegant, efficient and well documented code

• Work closely with other engineers, QA analysts, project managers and support staff in a team oriented environment



 

Position Requirements:

• Superior knowledge of software development techniques (developing specifications, design/architecture and code) as well as testing techniques

• Understanding of building scalable Web-based solutions

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a very fast-paced team environment

• Experience with Linux/Unix operating system and familiarity with Windows

• Knowledge and experience with: C/C++; JavaScript, HTML, CSS; SQL and relational databases; XML; Web services

• Familiarity with: ASP/Visual Basic in COM/COM+ model; Ajax; LDAP; STL
