SOFTWARE ENGINEER, Application Support- Data Specialist 



The Software Engineer within Application Support acts as the primary interface between the help desk and the Research and Development team. The Software Engineer is responsible for handling work orders (which can be internally or externally generated) that have been routed to R&D for diagnosis and any applicable bug fixes. The Software Engineer will either handle the work order directly, or solicit assistance from the most appropriate engineer within the R&D team.



Responsibility Overview:

 Provide support for internal and external customersManage work orders that describe particular issues, software bugs or customer problemsDevelop appropriate fixes or SQL scripts to resolve customer problems, or identify existing scripts or patches that must be appliedProvide general process analysis and make recommendations for improvementsWork with all roles within clinical study teamsWill specialize in Reporting and Data Extract issues

 Qualifications:

 

Required:Four-year college degree preferably in computer science, information systems or life sciencesAt least 4 years experience with SQL ServerAt least 2 years experience with c# and ASP.NETExperience with Business Objects, Crystal Reports and SASExperience setting up and configuring Web serversStrong problem solving skillsSuperior organization and communication skills, both verbal and writtenTotal commitment to quality and attention to detail

 

Preferred:

 

Experience working in a regulated environment
