Software Engineer - Custom Development

At Exact Software, an $80 million multi-national software company, we believe being a leading provider of solutions that connect the people, processes and knowledge essential for an efficient, competitive business.  We currently have an opening for a Custom Solutions Software Engineer in our Minneapolis, Minnesota office. 

 

Our Custom Solutions Software Engineer works with JobBOSS customers, sales team, other developers, support team and consultants within the organization to deliver robust custom programming solutions.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

· Engage with customer to define project requirements – sometimes in conjunction with Sales

§ Provide comprehensive requirements document, project delivery timeframe, and price quote to customer or Sales

§ Effectively set customer expectations appropriate for the situation

§ Use project management practices to complete projects on time, on budget, and within agreed upon scope

§ Provide timely and complete communication to customer regarding project status

§ Deliver tested and fully functional solutions that meet customer requirements

§ Balance business development (quoting) and project delivery efforts to ensure a steady pipeline of billable work

§ Provide accurate revenue forecasts to Professional Services Manager on weekly basis

§ Work to minimize customer disputes

§ Complete project administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner

 Minimum Job Requirements:

 Education:  Bachelors or technical degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

§ 1-3 years programming experience in .Net framework, including VB.Net and C#

§ Practical experience with OOAD methodology implementation practices

§ Experience creating web services and web service clients

§ Experience working with XML, ASP and ASP.Net

§ Proficiency using Crystal Reports

§ Ability to prioritize tasks

§ Time management in a dynamic environment with concurrent projects

§ Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize new technology, tools, software, and practices in a short timeframe

§ Ability to work independently

§ Creative problem solving

§ Manufacturing industry knowledge a plus

§ ERP experience preferred
