Position Description:

Software Engineer needed for real-time code development for DoD and Homeland Security related projects.  The position involves the design and development of code for data capture, data analysis, data fusion, software integration, sensor control, messaging, and geospatial mapping. Successful candidate is required to understand, assess, and integrate emerging technological capabilities into DOD-related architecture.

 

Responsible for researching, designing, writing,  and  implementing software systems and solutions;  performing software engineering design evaluations; fusing existing software products; creating technical specifications and test plans; performing engineering functions in  software/hardware design and systems architecture.

 

Candidate will develop and design technology supporting dynamic models and visualization software, and will create semantic data models to support the needs of intelligence and homeland security based projects. Knowledge of configuration and architecture processes required for the integration and sharing of enterprise data resources is required.

 

Candidate will create and maintain documentation of database structure; design, test, and evaluate software systems; and develop both packaged systems and/or systems software and create custom applications.

 

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field. (Required)Minimum of 3 years of developing applications, software interfaces, GUIs, databases (Required)Minimum of 3 years programming in multiple graphical and web-based development environment using Java, Javascript, JSP, C/C++, Visual Basic, ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, HTTP,  or XML (Required)US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance. (Required)

 

Qualifications:Thorough knowledge of programming in the following environments (Windows, Java/J2EE, .Net C#)Researches and interprets source records, writes operational documentation Writes and analyzes programming applications in a variety of related macros, Visual Basic scripts, SQL, etc. Database development using a RDBMS  (MySQL, MS SQL Server or Oracle)Experience in data modeling and web application development utilizing JAVA and C++ languages

 

Considered a Plus:ESRI Product Knowledge: ArcGIS, ArcServer, ArcEngineFamiliarity  with data fusion, artificial intelligence, fuzzy logicMaster’s Degree
