Software Engineer II

Currently we have an opening in the Embedded Software Platform Development Group for a Software Engineer. This position would work as part of an integrated team to assist in the development and delivery of new products built on top of our re-useable embedded software platform for re-use across multiple products. This position will debug and troubleshoot software as part of both new development and maintenance activities in support of the solutions products.

Additional job responsibilities include in part: providing estimates for assigned work, write source code for implementing a variety of features or resolving issues following existing software design requiring some guidance from senior software engineers; test and debug own source code, archive and version source code and any new or modified design documentation and participate in detailed reviews of software designs and source code for current project.

A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering with one year of professional experience is preferred, a Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering and no previous experience is acceptable. The following skills are preferred: C++ experience, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Knowledge of C, able to use test equipment, ocilloscope, voltmeter etc., and a knowledge of electronic devices such as motors, sensors and displays is desirable.

Finally, exposure to an Iterative Software Development process (lifecycle), experience with Rhapsody development tool, or UML with C++ code generation like Rational Rose, experience with multi-threadded development in an embedded environment and experience with the Nucleus RTOS from Accelerated Technologies is preferred.
