Software Engineer-JAVA

Description of Position:
This position will have responsibility for the development of Java applications for Services Oriented Architecture based systems. The java developer will be responsible for creating components using Java, utilizing standard Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), writing unit test cases and supporting the Testing and Quality Assurance phases of the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

- Design and Develop enterprise services and applications using Agile methodology.
- Work with Business partners and other development/testing groups when developing technical requirements and design.
- Develop detailed designs using Object-Oriented Methodology
- Develop Java Components and supporting DB objects
- Work with multiple teams on component integration, testing and deployment
- Develop Unit Test Cases and support testing and documentation
- Integrate COTS and open source products and technologies
- Work well in teams and also be able to contribute individually with minimal direction
- Keep abreast of current and emerging software development and deployment products and tools

QUALIFICATIONS:

Position Qualifications
- Required – Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
- At least 3 years development experience in production systems using Java technologies including J2EE, EJB, JDBC, XML/XSLT and Web Services (SOAP and WSDL)
- At least 3 years experience with relational databases (Oracle or MS SQL Server)
- Experience with JMS, Log4j, Frameworks, Spring, Hibernate and open source software desired
- Experience with development and implementation of business and technical requirements
- Experience in Design and Architecture using object-oriented methodologies
- Experience in Software Development Lifecycle and Application Design, Agile preferred
- Experience in application performance testing and tuning
- Experience with developing and deploying J2EE components within BEA Weblogic Server
- Experience with Voice/Data/Video business support systems (Billing, Ordering, CRM) a plus
- Strong problem solving ability with excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills required
- Ability to work with others and share ideas effectively
