Software/Firmware Design Engineer

DESCRIPTION:  Software/Firmware Design Engineer. Well established company and leader in the development and manufacturing of advanced electronic systems for the Space and Defense Industry, is in need of an experienced Software/Firmware Design Engineer. Must have experience designing, analyzing, integrating, and testing software/firmware at the board, subsystem, and system levels. Experience Modeling Control Systems with MATLAB or equivalent tools a must. Candidate will work with systems and electrical engineers creating software requirements specifications, software design descriptions, software test plans and provide cost estimates. Experience designing hardware drivers in C. Must be able to test and debug embedded microprocessor boards using test equipment such as: Logic analyzers, debuggers and in circuit immolators. Servo Systems Design experience with an understanding of servo control loops and electro-mechanical control of systems. Experience with advanced motion control algorithms to control servo system performance; conduct system modeling and motion control algorithm simulations. Must be familiar with C, C++ & embedded microcontroller programming.
