Software/Hardware Programmer/Developer

Position Description

This position involves software development using C#, Java, C++, and the .NET family of programming languages. The applicant will be involved in the product generation of simulated and real-time data for an instrumentation suite - the C4ISR Test Toolkit. The applicant should be familiar with Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional Operating Systems, and Unified Modeling Language (UML). Technical certifications and qualifications received by qualified technical training are significant factors in selection of personnel not having a degree. Applicant must have a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record. Applicant selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Occasional extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required to complete projects with deadlines and to support tests. Travel (usually by air) to meetings and test support excursions will occasionally be required. Candidate should be familiar with instrumentation software development and have the ability to work with XML, JAVA and web-based applications. In addition, the candidate should have familiarity with configuration management practices and have the ability to prepare documents normally associated with a disciplined software development process. Candidate must be a self-starter and able to work independently and provide supervision and guidance. Must be capable of multi-tasking and responding to time critical tasks.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Software/Programming or in related technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics) is required. Associate's degree in related technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics) plus a minimum of two years experience is an acceptable substitution for Bachelor's degree. Candidates without degrees are suitable if substituting a minimum of six years of directly related experience in software programming. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must be granted an Interim Security clearance within 90 days of employment date.
