* Participates in quality planning and assurance in each phase of product development (across the software development life cycle)

* Reviews software requirements specifications

* Prepares effective test plans, test cases, and test scripts

* Executes tests on new and enhanced software products to detect software defects and ensure that software requirements and standards have been met

* Documents test findings and reports test defects

* Participates in defect review and test planning meetings

* Participates actively in continuous process improvement efforts

* Helps maintain set-up of test environments

* Assists with the field (beta) test planning and execution

* Assists with documentation and other software quality activities (e.g., documentation of testing activities in support of regulatory requirements) Required Skills



* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

* Ability to effectively interact directly with clients and work with a variety of specialists (e.g., programmers, clinicians)

* Attention to detail (e.g., methodically planning, preparing and following a checklist to comprehensively test a product)

* Demonstrated creativity (`thinking outside the box')and problem solving

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately

* To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

* Experience using Visio and Screen Capture tools would be a plus Required Experience



* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or any healthcare related studies would be desirable (technical and/or clinical education or experience is required)

* At least 3 years of Software Quality Assurance experience (including testing web-based applications) or clinical experience in an emergency department (e.g., RN)

* Experience using Quality Center suite of testing and defect management tools and other automated testing tools is a plus

* Experience in a regulated environment (preferably FDA, ISO) is a plus

* Experience using Siebel CRM a plus (experience defect tracking tools is a requirement)

* Experience and formal training with testing web-based product functionality is a plus

* Experience with MS-SQL Server, Perl, Java, .NET programming a plus
