Software Quality Assurance

Sony Creative Software, a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America, has the following position available:

Title: Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Location: Madison, WI

As a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America, the company also develops applications that enhance the experience for users of Sony hardware devices including the PSP™ (PlayStation® Portable) and Sony Ericsson mobile phones.

Sony Creative Software is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer. This position works closely with project management and the software development team to ensure that the commercial product developed is production ready.

Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for end-to-end testing of application
* Creates and executes test plans and test cases
* Reports test failures and verifies bug fixes
* Works with developers to ensure quality of application
* Works with developers on technical matters regarding functionality and usability
* Works with Customer Service to resolve reported issues
* Releases software from QA to Production with known quality for deployment

Skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
* Self motivated team player with strong attention to detail
* Knowledgeable of current technologies, as it applies to the customer experience, with strong emphasis on audio/video technologies
* Working knowledge of: QA methodologies, terminology, and tools; PC hardware, platforms, and configurations; Windows operating system; client applications, Web applications and networks
* Strong understanding of regression, integration, interoperability, system level and stress/load test execution
* Skilled at identification of upcoming risks, issues and bottlenecks


Education and Experience
* Background in complex Quality Assurance efforts
* On-time delivery track record
* Degree in computer science or related field is highly desirable
* Knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages a plus

The Ideal Candidate will Possess One or More of the Following:
* 3+ years of experience in the field of Software Quality assurance
* Knowledge of music, video and photo file formats
* Knowledge of audio signal flow in hardware and software environments
* Experience with audio effects and editing
* Experience with MIDI composition
