SUMMARY

 

Performs software quality assurance tasks requiring testing and reporting on results of test to ensure that developed, vendor provided software products meet requirements and design specifications and are within quality standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Create and update test plans and test scripts

Execute tests for functional, integration and regression testing utilizing test scripts validating results against expected results documented in test scripts

Reports defects to system developers with specific criteria used to reproduce the defect

Conducts meetings to go over open defects with key business representatives and system developers

Plan and coordinate user acceptance testing

Authorizes implementation of new code to production

Develops post production validation plan and executes and/or coordinates post production validation

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

EQUIPMENT OPERATED

 

Telephone, personal computer, and office equipment including scanner and copier.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


College degree or 5 years software quality assurance experience with high school diploma.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common English business communication including system requirements definition, functional design specifications, detail design specifications, freight bills, bills of lading and carrier tariff agreements.  

Ability to effectively communicate with people at various levels within the organization and to quickly grasp business requirements and processes.

 

MATHEMATICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

 

Excellent data entry and typing skills

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access)

Ability to read and write SQL 

 

REASONING ABILITY

 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Ability to understand and act upon verbal and written instructions.
