Software Quality Assurance Professionals

Sircon Corporation is a rapidly growing software as a service (SaaS) company focused on meeting the regulatory and compliance needs of the insurance industry. Sircon’s 1500+ customers include some of the nation’s most recognized insurance companies. Our database and transactional service offerings are delivered through the Web using advanced Internet and database technology.

 

We are in need of individuals who excel at finding software issues and identifying ways to prevent them from happening in the first place.  Our quality assurance analysts are embedded with the software development team and support the team’s charter of delivering valuable software that is easy to use and functions according to its requirements.  This is not a remote position.  This individual will be required to work from our headquarters in Okemos, Michigan.

 

Responsibilities:Test software applications both manually and with test automation tools; Create and maintain test plans and manual test scripts; Create and maintain automated tests with tools such as Apache JMeter and Badboy; Perform all manner of software testing, including functional, regression, compatibility, usability, security, and load testing; Determine testing scope and report on quality throughout entire product development life cycle; Coordinate testing efforts with development teams and other quality stakeholders; Report and track software defects, including determining severity; Create and maintain test data and environments; and Define new and improve existing quality assurance processes, methodologies, and metrics, with an attitude of constant improvement.



Requirements:Deep-seated desire for quality and high level of detail orientation; Solid understanding of software testing techniques and methodologies; Solid verbal and written communication skills; Quick learner and goal-oriented; Strong personal sense of initiative, perseverance, curiosity, and critical thinking; Comfortable working with an agile methodology; Proficiency with databases, including Oracle and MySQL; Hands-on experience with XML and web services is a plus; and Insurance or financial industry background is a plus.
