SOFTWARE SALES EXECUTIVE (Geological & Geophysical)

 

Houston based software development company has immediate opportunity for a Sales Executive to market and develop existing and new business relationships in the North American region.  This award winning and rapidly growing company presents a unique opportunity for a mid- career level executive to take over large, established oil & gas clients as well as develop relationships with mid to large exploration companies in the US and Canada.  Travel may involve up to 40%, domestic and Canada. 



 

RESPONSIBILITIES:Initiate Customer contact – Outbound calls – to Oil & Gas Operators and Service Companies in North AmericaDiscover/Uncover Customer needsPair Geological & Geophysical products to specific needsCommunicate ROI Build Customer loyalty Penetrate Customer organization, develop additional sales to multiple divisions, regions, and departments within large oil & gas clients.  Provide creative solutions to data management problems through tools and services.  Create and deliver winning sales proposals to mid and senior level technical and professional executivesManage sales pipeline, utilize Salesforce.com for contact and activity tracking.  Coordinate with Delivery TeamsExecute sales programsProspect researchDemonstrate deep understanding of customer’s businessDevelop competitive intelligence, analyzing competitor products as well as “invented here” technologies used by Customer. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:4+ years of experience in an oil & gas service or  technology company.  4+ years sales experience with proven track record closing sales in the $25K + range.Track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas consistently.  BS/BA degree; Geoscience or Engineering preferred

· Experience selling technology (software or services) to large oil & gas exploration and production companies.

· Knowledge and understanding of Geological and Geophysical data management from a vendor or inside perspective.  Sales Acumen:  understands complex sales process Knowledge of organizational structure of a large Oil & Gas corporation, and decision-making process Probing skills necessary to uncover apparent and hidden Customer needsRelationship building skillsExperience successfully selling and closing business in a 3-6 month sales cycle.  Ability to develop quick rapport and build loyalty Create sales plans that include timelines, activities, call strategies and goals Excellent time management skillsPresentation skills – email, written and verbalExperience creating winning sales proposalsNegotiating skills necessary for creation of win/win scenarios and energizing othersAbility to qualify prospectsAbility to develop contacts and maintain a contact databaseConflict resolution skillsDeveloped (as well as learned) successful personal sales approach Technical acumen necessary to effectively utilize technology as a sales toolEmphasis on pre-call activity – call planning and preparation
