Software Support Lead

TransCore, a subsidiary of Roper Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a Software Support Lead based from Hummelstown, PA. 

 

Working with the Violations Processing team, the Software Support Lead will coordinate support activities with department management, project managers, and operations managers. This professional will manage a team consisting of technical project managers and software engineers.  The Software Support Lead will serve as a consultant and reviewer of system designs and initiatives; in addition, the Software Support Lead will be responsible for application functionality, development, deployment, and support.

 

In addition, the Software Support Lead will:

 Serve as the direct line manager for software engineers. Provide best practices and standards guidance to improve staff efficiency and utilization. Review, complete, and manage project documentation. Review, build, and maintain project schedules in accordance with project requirements. Report project status to management. Proactively detect, evaluate, and mitigate issues/risks. Manage customer project status meetings. Assist business development opportunities including team development, proposal management, and price estimate development. Provide support for presentations as subject matter expert.



 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related CIS, MIS curriculum required, and five years related experience as a software engineer. Five years of relevant software development and software support experience is required. Project Management Professional certification or formal education is a plus. Experience within the transportation industry is a plus. Strong communication skills, both oral and written.Capacity to work on his/her own with minimum direction. Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Solid organization skills. Ability to manage stress and stressful situations. Ability to ascertain design requirements from customer meetings and produce requisite design documents for development team.
