Software Test Automation Development Engineer

 

The Role of the DeltaV Test Automation Development Engineer is to: design, build, test, and deploy effective test automation solutions, programs, and scripts. To fulfill this role, the Test Automation Development Engineer partners with resources from the Test organization and applies advanced automation technologies to test scripts to meet the short and long term automation goals of the testing organization. The objective is to apply advanced automation techniques while maintaining a positive ROI throughout the effort.

 

The successful candidate will participate in a multi year program that aims to raise automated test coverage significantly.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

· Using object oriented technologies to develop state of the art test automation

· Promoting test automation across teams and being liaison between development and test

· Continues improvement of automated test process

· Create example regression test cases for automated test tools that can be handed off to test teams in multiple world areas

· Participate in or review of new architectures and frameworks for a large process control system to ensure efficient  testability

· Automation of low fidelity simulation of customer systems

· Development of methods and metrics for improving pre-system test quality

 

Requirements:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering

· Object oriented analysis and design skills

· Computer programming experience in VBA, Java, C++ or C#

· Comprehensive knowledge of current state-of-the-art software test methodologies

· Demonstrated skills in successful implementation of test automation software

· Excellent communication skills
