Are you ready to make a difference in the world of mobile communications with RIM?POSITION SUMMARY Research In Motion is looking for a technical, results oriented individual with strong resource management and software testing quality assurance skills to act as lead for a technically strong team of software testers. This candidate should have experience leading small to mid size test teams in a distributed, scalable, multi-tiered server-based application environment. This individual will be responsible for resource management, test planning, documentation, team status, and bug triage for multiple simultaneous projects. This individual should be extremely technical, results oriented, a skilled communicator, high energy, a strong leader, and capable of working collaboratively with developers, project managers, and testers. This is a tremendous opportunity for a lead tester to take their career to new heights.ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 7+ years in the software industry, including hands-on software development experience and strong program/project management skills. Minimum of 2 years experience leading software testing teams of at least 2 testers. 3+ years working with high-volume, large scale applications. Track record in releasing successful software products to market. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Proactive, great attention to detail, results-oriented problem solver, critical thinker, and ability to meet aggressive deadlines. Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to motivate team members while demonstrating the need to meet quality objectives. Experience working on cross-department efforts by communicating and negotiating with other teams to accomplish goals. Demonstrated understanding and implementation of software testing “best practices” combined with the ability to “think outside the box”. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities across many constituencies and in time-sensitive situations. Ability to self-manage. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work through it to get the right things done. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related subject area required. Demonstrated knowledge of UI, mid-tier and back-end servers/DBs.
