SOFTWARE TESTER

The selected candidate will test new releases of the software and document issues found during testing; draft and execute summary and detailed test plans; and review software documentation.  Other essential duties and responsibilities will include being responsible for the implementation of testing; being assigned as a member of the QA team supporting a multi-year application development effort; analyzing test results and making recommendations; documenting results from tests and communicating the results to the Lead QA and/or the QA Manager and may be required to present status of test results to the Operations Manager.  Will also be responsible for writing test plans and test cases and developing checklists; creating test data; and writing test standards and procedures.  Under minimal supervision, will be required to conduct quality assurance activities on policies, procedures, standards and products of their respective projects; test and verify bug fixes and new functionality; execute functional, application, regression and performance tests for software releases; and write clear and precise defect reports as required for identified bugs and new functionality based on testing results.  Other duties may be assigned.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for the implementation of testing, assigned as a member of the QA team supporting Cross Domain Solutions, and analyzes test results and makes recommendations. Documents results from tests and communicates the results to the Lead QA and/or the QA Manager. May be required to present status of test results to the Operations Manager.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for writing test plans and test cases and developing checklists. Responsible for creating test data. Writes test standards and procedures, will be under minimal supervision, conducts quality assurance activities on policies, procedures, standards and products of their respective projects. and tests and verifies bug fixes and new functionality. Executes functional, application, regression and performance tests for software releases.  The individual must also write clear and precise defect reports as required for identified bugs and new functionality based on testing results.

The qualified candidate must have 5 to 7 years experience in a QA capacity; experience with IBM/Rational Tool Set and other software testing tools and best practices; and a BS Degree.
