Are you looking for an opportunity to deliver mission critical software licensing applications which service more than 40% of Microsoft’s revenue? The Sales, Marketing and Services Group Deliver conduit is looking for a Solution Manager to be a part of the team for a set of customer facing applications that support mission critical licensing information for customers, partners and internal stakeholders. The solution manager will act as a process owner working with the World Wide Licensing and Pricing group, regional operations centers and various business groups to define the IT strategy required to integrate our new and existing Volume Licensing applications into the Microsoft Individual Organization infrastructure. This role includes project planning, business requirement definition and management and ensuring that the IT deliverables meet the customer’s expectations. This position requires an attention to detail on system requirements while still being able to understand the long term vision of both our business partners and our IT architecture. The senior Solution Manager also needs to be able to map the current projects into a broader, long term integration effort currently underway. The applications under this process umbrella are far reaching in scope and visible to the Microsoft executive team. Subsequently, this is an opportunity for broad exposure to many teams and executives throughout Microsoft. Core Job Skills: · Strong Project Management Skills. This includes experience managing projects within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in a faced paced, unstructured environment. · Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects at the same time· Strong negotiation and consensus building skills when dealing with internal customers, stakeholders and team members. · Need to develop and manage direct relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure the business solutions are aligned with their goals and priorities. · This individual should enjoy building relationships and a team atmosphere. · This individual also needs to be a strong leader who can focus on the vision and strategies of the group while managing the tactical components of running the daily business.· Sound understanding of IT technology concepts. Must have a basic understanding of software architectures, MS products, development tools, etc. · This person does not need to have deep technical knowledge.· Balance the customer’s requirements with technical constraints (e.g., application size, network bandwidth, hardware/software/equipment selections) to ensure that the value of the project is realized.· Analyze and document requirements and use appropriate techniques to refine, decompose, review and validate requirements. · Ensure requirements are traceable, well communicated and aligned to the overall business or solution vision.· Create and maintain a cohesive, coordinated plan to deliver solutions that meet the stakeholders’ priorities within budgetary and product requirements.· Be the subject matter expert across all of IT on the processes and related applications within the position’s scope· Be the central point of contact for communication and problem solving within projects: communicate milestones, issues, risks and budget for internal management and external stakeholders.· Makes scope/schedule/resources (including budget) trade-off decisions with little or no guidance.· Ensure line of business priorities and IT capabilities (technology and resources) are aligned.· Demonstrate a sound understanding of how the overall business solution is positioned, deployed and supported globally. · Evangelizing business benefits to IT and influence project team priorities as well as to resolve user issues.· Maintain a strong relationship and regular communications with stakeholders in relation to their business goals & priorities, and how process automation through IT solutions will help them reach their goals.· Communicate and build consensus with other groups regarding the solution & options available to implement it.· Drive the prioritization process by which decisions are made around the final project scope.
