Sr. C++ Software Engineer

National Digital Medical Archive, Inc. is headquartered in Berwyn, PA (Chesterbrook). We are a privately held company that specializes in the national and cross-enterprise distribution and access of health images and data.  Our flagship service, the National Digital Medical Archive (NDMA), provides storage and distribution solutions for health imaging centers and hospitals.

 

We are seeking a brilliant C++ software engineer with a proven history of getting things done.  We commit to remove obstacles, and keep you out of long meetings so that you can do what you do what you do best: design and implement superior solid code that conforms to accepted coding standards.  We’ll surround you with other exceptional software engineers and other professionals that you’ll respect and enjoy working with.

 

As part of our team you will contribute to the design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, performance, scalability, security, and enhancement of NDMA product offerings. This position requires an individual who can successfully work in a dynamic environment where priorities change based on evolving business needs.  Deadline driven project assignments and our iterative approach to development processes require a professional with excellent adaptability and communication skills.

 

In order to be invited to join this team, the successful candidate will have a commanding knowledge of C++ programming. The position is a senior-level, deeply technical, hands-on C/C++/Multi-threaded Linux/Windows position.

 

Qualified candidates should have a commanding knowledge of the following:

§ Portable C/C++

§ Object Oriented Design

§ Network protocols: TCP/IP and Sockets

§ Threading

§ Linux

§ Windows

§ Ability to produce clear technical design documentation

§ Ability to identify system bottlenecks and make corrective recommendations

§ Ability to deliver high quality work on time in a high-energy, high-stress environment

§ Ability to collaborate and brainstorm with other developers in a dynamic team environment

§ Ability to contribute to the maintenance and support of production systems as necessary

 

Experience with Agile (SCRUM), and/or Extreme Programming methodologies is a significant plus.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

§ Design and development of software for the NDMA

§ Server side software development

§ Continuously improve existing software to ensure the highest levels of reliability

§ Follow standards throughout the development life cycle

§ Document all stages of design, development and test

§ Solve complex problems drawing on a diverse background of programming, networking, systems debugging, Linux, and Windows skills

§ Use version control system (CVS) to track all software changes

§ Use of FogBugz to track support cases

§ Provide input into tool selection to provide a productive development environment

§ Develop solid, unit tested code

§ Assist in creating documentation for ISO and FDA certifications
