The ProSource Group has recently engaged with a San Diego based client that is looking for a Sr. Data Migration Expert. The detailed job description is listed below. This is a 6 month consulting engagement located is Oslo, Norway.This position requires an onsite presence for the duration of the assignment. Quarterly travel back to the candiates home country will be provided.Summary: The Migration Analyst is a senior resource with extensive experience developing technical solutions. The Migration Analyst is accountable for ensuring that the client’s domain and associated data are understood and that the data is transferred to the current OSS / BSS system (s) into the new system. The role of Migration Analyst requires senior level technical expertise spanning all aspects of data migration. This role can be further expanded based on skill and knowledge into System Integration, Business Analysis, and Technical Project Management roles or tasks.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Working with our onsite client, identifying the migration processes and the data requirements associated with the business processes.- Conduct tests to ensure the data was accurately migrated/converted. Prepare and present reports to the client. - Identify and report technical risks throughout the lifecycle of the migration project and provide strategies for those risks.- Work with our Integration and Migration teams to ensure a quality delivery.- Ensure a Quality Delivery of the Migration Solution being delivered to the customer.- Take responsibility for any migration issues that may arise & track them through to resolutionQualifications- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience- 3 years hands-on experience in planning, mapping, and executing data migration in a billing system environment- Solid understanding of current and emerging data analysis migration tools and technologies- Comprehensive knowledge of data quality, data standards and data cleansing, and testing strategies.- Proven experience translating customer migration requirements into technical business requirements and specificationsRequired Skills:- 3 years commercial experience - Oracle DBA- Oracle 10g- MS SQL Server DBA - Data Modeling & Schema Impl.- Performance Tunning- Migration Experience (Oracle to Oracle ) - Data Mapping Experience & Documentation Expertise- Strategy Documentation & Presentations- Back up & Recovery- Candidate must feel comfortable with presentations and “White Board” sessions. Preference given to candidates with the following:- The candidate should take a self-driven approach & responsibility for deliverables, ensuring their accuracy and completeness, with minimal direction required- Previous Migration experience implementing a customer care and billing system. Experience with Amdocs, CSG Systems, Seibel, or Oracle highly desired.- Experience working in a DBA capacity Oracle or MS SQL DBA for a large Pay Television, VOIP, Internet provider strongly perferred.- The applicant can / will travel or live in assignment country 100% of the time. Quarterly travel to home country provided.- Experience managing and maintaining BSS or OSS systems in the Cable, Telecoms or Satellite industry would be useful.- Experience In system Integration, Implementation or deployment is desirable.- Experience in migrating data from several different external data sources into Oracle, using multiple methods to transform data is helpful. - Experience with : Oracle, Unix, Migration tools, Pearl, Python, Business Objects, Data analysis tools, SQL, PL SQL., data transformation and enrichment rulesThis position requires an onsite presence for the duration of the assignment.
