Top5 Incorporated is currently recruiting for a Sr. Director to join one of our most important clients in the Washington DC area.  The Sr. Director will be responsible for managing the portfolio of existing reporting and data warehouse applications that support our client’s Global Sales and Revenue Management. The candidate must be a thought leader in the data warehouse space, identifying opportunities where technology and data management best practices can drive incremental business benefit, and to lead a large initiative to transform and replace existing tools and warehouses with new enterprise standard technologies.

 

The candidate will become a thought leader and change agent that identifies opportunities and implements strategies to improve data management practices across the organization.  They will additionally, develop and strengthen the organizational capabilities and skills in relevant areas.  They will be responsible for meeting service levels for existing portfolio of applications until they can be retired; identifying opportunities to lower costs and improve the delivery of advanced analysis and reporting solutions and maintain current view of relevant industry trends.

 

Responsibilities:

 

· Develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap for data warehouse technology and related applications.

· Partners with other data organizations and architecture group to define appropriate enterprise business intelligence strategies and standards.

· Analyze staffing requirements, recruits and develops internal team skills necessary to deliver against business objectives

· Negotiates contracts and manages performance of external vendors and internal resources

· Create and manage budgets for production support and initiatives work, develops business cases and secures funding for proposed initiatives.

 

 

Requirements:

· BS in Computer Science or relevant IT discipline; MS preferred

· Minimum of 12 years of IT experience with most recent 7 years leading teams and delivering large initiatives

· 3 years experience managing data warehouse environments and related analysis and reporting applications

· Demonstrated ability to develop strong partnerships and drive change

· Specific technical skills in dimensional modeling, Cognos ReportNet/8.0, Informatica, Trillium and/or Siebel a plus.
