Sr. IT Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Dallas, TXYour location:home » find a job » advanced search » job description Apply Online Send this Job to a Friend The candidate will be self-motivated, hands on, and strategic solutions oriented IT infrastructure/core network specialist with excellent leadership skills, and a keen understanding of customer service, business continuity and cost effective implementation of technology solutions. This IT professional will be experienced in creating consistent repeatable standards and practical results that provide strategic gains to an organization. Experience and Education: 10+ yrs in multiple projects experience in designing and implementing Microsoft Server technologies and multi-organizational deployments with Enterprise/Group Policy Objects, including demonstrated knowledge in the following technologies: o Operating Systems: Windows 2003 Server, Citrix Metaframe. Windows 2000 Server/professional, Windows XP client, Windows terminal Server, Veritas, Symantic Ghost, Microsoft Internet Server Accelerator (ISA 2003) o Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Internet Information Server, network firewalls, Enterprise Patch/Anti-Virus/SpyWare, and Spam filtering o Ericom, Tricerat, Citrix Metaframe or similar terminal server technologies. o Exchange Server 2003, with Push technology, OWA, Outlook 2003, Mobile 2005 email clients, Blackberry Enterprise Services o Microsoft OS Servers o Networking hardware and software, including data storage, switches, hubs, WIFi, IPSEC VPN, Cyberguard and Cisco network electronics o Corporate Portals with Sharepoint Portal Services (SPS) 2003, MS SQL database server 2000, MS Office 2003 integrations Experience in designing, planning and deploying enterprise network application servers with focus on consistent maintenance procedures, capacity planning and security best practices.• Team leadership or senior-level experience with responsibility for managing entire project lifecycles including requirements, design, scope/budget, implementation/management, testing, documentation, deployment planning and transitioning to support.• Demonstrated strong ability to learn, apply and train others on new networking, data storage and systems technologies.• Experience in providing end-user support in small, medium to large distributed wide-area network environment (over 1000 devices).• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with data center operations and implementation Including business continuity, storage network and server consclidation strategies and technologies.• Strong fundamentals in various LAN/WAN technology and both voice/data and VoIP telecommunications a plus.• Ability to implement automation scripts or system maintenance/monitoring autoriation to increase uptime and reduce support effort a plus.• Willing to travel. Specific Duties include:• Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks.• Management of Data center services including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware. Configure and integrate data center services and networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.• Ensure network connectivity of all enterprise servers, workstations, and other network appliances.• Manage servers, including MS Exchange, SharePoint Portal, Extranet, Print, and Backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.• Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training I)Ians for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.• Support and mentor engineering team on day-to-day support and 24x7 mainte,mnce activities while managing multiple projects.• Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the network industry.• Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.• Monitor and test Data Center applications, network performance and provide statistics and reports.• Installing, configuring, administering Windows Operating Systems and Network Management Systems• Administering customization tools provided by network management vendors.
