Sr. Java ProgrammerConsultant

We are a software provider to laboratories at leading Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Research Institutions. Our primary product has seen strong industry acceptance and growth leading to a need to expand our consulting divisions' resources. This is a unique opportunity to work with a company at its most exciting time and to engage with a team of highly dedicated and skilled individuals while working with state of the art technologies and products.

We are seeking consultants to be placed at opportunities where they will interact with our clients, while working closely with our Consulting Group to identify business needs, and to design, code and deliver solutions to our clients in a timely manner.

Geographic proximity (within 1-3 hour drive) to corporate headquarters is a must, but as telecommuting is required, relocation is not necessary. Compensation is negotiable and will be paid at an hourly rate.

Required Skills
* 5+ years experience in Software Engineering and software product development
* Proficient in Java J2SE, specifically JDBC, I/O, RMI, JNI, JAXP, JPF, Collections, Threads, Callbacks, Interfaces, Swing
* Experience in design and development of graphical user interfaces
* Solid software methodologies, object-oriented design practices and testing methods
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, independent, good problem solver
* Experience with development in both Windows and Unix / Linux environments

Bonus Skills
* Knowledge of distributed java architectures and technologies
* Experience developing client / server, multi-user and multi-threaded applications
* Familiarity with database design / administration, such as MySQL and Oracle 10g
