Sr. Localization Program Manager

Position Description:

The ideal candidate will have experience and passion for developing world-class internationally oriented products and services in all major European and Asian languages. You should have extensive experience with the Windows environment (particularly XP and Vista), Macintosh and Linux would also be of benefit, and a deep understanding of the localization process and lifecycle as it relates to consumer software, web services and international ecommerce. Must be independently motivated, show great initiative and able to work as a key part of a teamEssential Functions: % of Time1. Role in assessmentstipulation of requirements for globalisabilitylocalizability of consumer products, web based support and service systems and websites and making recommendationssetting requirements for same – 25%2. Management, shared or complete as delegated, of timely and cost-effective localization projects using internalexternal resources. – 50%3. Enhancementcreation of localization processes and procedures. Adaptation of existing localization skills to meet new project requirements – 10%4. Dissemination of software localization skills to other staff within the groupcompany -10%5. Advance planning
esearch of new methodologies for facilitating localization of international software, backend systems and web-based materials – 5%• Responsibility, shared or complete as delegated, for assessment and audit of software, systems and web-based materials from international perspective• Ensuring all necessary changesmodifications made to enable swift, efficient and cost-effective localization and timely shipping of same• Planning, scheduling and resource management of projects• Responsibility, shared or complete as delegated, for establishment and maintenance of high quality localized software projectsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Minimum:• Demonstrated ability to successfully execute andor participate in planning, preparation and coordination of localization projects• Extensive knowledge of one or more of Windows XP, Vista. Strong understanding of internet applications and systems including ecommerce.
