Sr. MTS - Advanced Development - Core Virtualization

VMware Inc., a pioneer in virtualization software for industry-standard computers, is seeking top-notch software engineers to join the Advanced Development group, which is responsible for the investigation of new and unproven technology with a view to producing future VMware products. This engineer will need to be capable of generating interesting ideas for new technology related to core virtualization. They must also be capable of working in a small team to take these ideas and implement a prototype.

Requirements:
2+ years of industry experience along with strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to generate new ideas and work independently
Excellent knowledge of OS kernel internals, including memory management, resource management, and interrupt architecture.
Extensive development experience working on low-level, performance-critical software.
Embedded systems or ARM architecture experience desired.
Strong background in computer architecture.
Must be an excellent hands-on implementer with strong C programming skills in a Linux or Windows environment.
MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field is highly desirable.
Prior development experience with dynamic/binary translation or compilers is a plus.
Strong knowledge of x86 assembly/architecture is also a plus.
