Sr. Oracle Database Administrator

Description Provide DBA services to internal and external clients in UNIX and Linux environments Designs, installs, and maintains complex database systems including data modeling, access, security, performance, and documentation Leads the designs, development and implementation of database backup and recovery procedures to insure reliability Integrates major, complex systems through the database system Serves as interface between users and IT department Coordinates and participates in large database projects Develop and execute database migration, change management and configuration management tasks for new releases of MSA products Train less senior personnel

 

Required Skills Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years Oracle experience including design, implementation, backup and recovery, monitoring, and tuning databases Understands complex and advanced database concepts Considers business aspects of problems, and recognizes opportunities for expanding business services. Must be proactive and preventive in problem solving Minimum 1 year experience in OS or database administration Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently on multiple tasks Strong communication and technical skills Knowledge of relational databases, Structured Query Language (SQL), UNIX or Linux operation system Knowledge of programming or scripting language (JAVA, PL/SQL, Perl)
