Sr. Project Planner/Business Analyst

 

STS International (STS), a leading systems engineering, integration, and production company, is creating a new senior-level Project Planner/Business Analyst position in our Falls Church, VA office.  As an integral part of our Project Management Office, this position will provide project planning and project management expertise for new and on-going federal government projects.

 

Responsibilities will include: Provides overall business/project analysis and supports project planning, budgets and coordination, research, logistics and/or procurement.  May develop and design feasibility studies and perform functional analysis, and develop alternative strategies when needed.   Applies strong knowledge of project management tools such as Earned Value Management (EVM), Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) Analysis, Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Cost Performance Index (CPI), Critical Path Methods (CPM), Budgeted Cost of Work Scheduled (BCWS), Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP). Will participate and support activities around the identification and implementation of new tools and/or methods aimed at improving efficiency.  Performs research and analysis of projects, prepares subsequent reports and documentation as assigned and may assist in the implementation of solutions.Will track master project and/or multiple sub projects already in progress, project costs, hours and resources through extensive use of MS Project and or other business tools.  May subsequently identify the need to adjust the schedules of future tasks, resource allocation and resource needs to consolidate projects. Logistics/procurement tasks may include but are not limited to: creates, receives and/or processes requests for materiel, locating sources of supplies, requests quotes from vendors, evaluates bids, and selects/recommends the most qualified source, issues purchase orders, tracks status, and expedites orders according to customer requirements. 

Requirements: Interested candidates should be PgMP, PMP, or CAPM certified and have a minimum of 6+ years of project planning experience, to include strong MS Project and earned value (EVMS) experience.  Prior experience in the federal contracting industry is required, and experience working with Costpoint, COBRA, and/or MS Project Server is highly desired.  A Bachelor’s degree (or 4years of additional relevant work experience) is also required.

 

Some travel (up to 25%) may be required for this position.
