Quality Assurance Engineer
Job Description
The Senior QA Engineer's job is to inject and enforce quality into the entire software development process. This individual is responsible for testing our software products at various stages of development, and also for providing a positive influence on the processes that lead to those products.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute test plans and validation procedures. Review and offer feedback on requirements documents, design specs, and development plans. Identify risks to product schedule milestones and provide advanced warning of these risks. Create automated test suites for functional and regression testing. Debug software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain software quality standards. Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and enhancement of software. Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action. Consult with development engineers in resolution of problems. Develop performance benchmark suites and generate benchmark data against a variety of platforms. Champion quality issues and supply customer oriented reasons to address said issues. Mentor testers on your test team to ensure their understanding of functionality and testing methodology.
Primary Qualifications5+ years experience in software QA or development. Fluency in one or more scripting languages. (JavaScript, Python, Perl, etc.) Basic familiarity with one ore more strongly typed languages. (Java, C#, C++) Experience with software test tools. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong project management skills.
Secondary QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field Experience with video/audio manipulation, encoding and delivery Experience with client/server and clustered architectures Unix and/or Linux experience Experience in automated GUI testing
