Sr. Release Engineer

Our customers rely on NAVTEQ digital map information for use in their applications based on its accuracy, detail and completeness.  GENERAL SUMMARYUnder general direction, execute Release Management (RM) processes and procedures. Works with project managers and project teams to support the RM processes and procedures. Mentors less experienced team members on technical matters. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Publishes release packages and records• Supports release management activities.• Runs problem and code tracking reports in preparation for releases• Runs automated build processes on behalf of the development teams.• Enforces process compliance by the development team for releases.• Facilitates the CCB for project teams - publishes CCB decisions• Coordinates release content with development teams, system test and direct customers• Participates in the definition and improvement of Release Management processes and procedures.• Proactively identifies opportunities for Release Management to facilitate the packaging and release of products.*As a senior member of the team, the successful candidate will have the ability to provide leadership and guidance in a fast paced, innovative environment.   JOB SPECIFICATIONS: • Undergraduate degree (science/technology), or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.• Min. 4 yrs. experience in release coordination leadership role, in conjunction with software configuration management responsibilities.• Demonstrated knowledge of configuration and release management strategies and methodologies.• Solid organizational skills.• Solid written and verbal communication skills.• Detail oriented. REQUIRED SKILLS: • Strong hands on experience Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite.• Mastery of the spoken and written English language.*Subversion and JIRA experience/knowledge would be a plus.*Proficient knowledge UNIX environment absolute must.  NAVTEQ is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer M/F/D/V  JOB TITLE: Sr. Release Engineer COMPANY: NAVTEQ LOCATION: Chicago, IL 60606 STATUS: Full Time, Employee JOB CATEGORY: IT/Software Development CAREER LEVEL: Experienced (Non-Manager) REFERENCE CODE: 8175
